leaving the mark of the hand
Johan Joseph Dietsch, whom theologians have called a “jazz theology virtuoso” lives in Key West, Florida and works on the boundaries between sacred music and free jazz improvisation.
Composing with acoustic guitar, his musical performances transform ineffable surroundings into sound. Often inspired by the inherent beauty of architectural acoustics and sounds that are found, Dietsch’s compositions are “an invitation for the listener” to experience “Soulmarks on the Wire,” a symbiotic encounter with these sonic landscapes.
